The Coffey County Genealogical Society (CCGS) is a non-profit educational organization with membership that is open to all who are interested in genealogy and willing to cooperate in the Society’s objectives. Having roots in an earlier organization, CCGS was founded in January 1983, by people interested in genealogy and family history. CCGS actively seeks to coordinate among various individuals and organizations to make resources available and to help preserve our heritage information for future generations.
The Mission of the Coffey County Genealogical Society is to unite individuals who are interested in the study of genealogy and history; to assist its members in tracing and preserving genealogical records; to collect and preserve genealogical and historical materials and make them available to everyone; to educate and promote interest in genealogical research and to foster accurate documentation of our Coffey County history and pioneer ancestry.
CCGS meets at the Coffey County Library – Burlington Branch on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM.
Coffey County Genealogical Society is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. Business Entity Id. 0870980
